Geometric Search

Under the hood Search & Filters

GETTING RID FROM THE MAJORITY OF THE FILES

Physna search starts with a string and folder selection. In Search results user is presented with metadata filtering, e.g. material, folder, file type, volume, etc.

PIN POINTING

"I start by searching for a model and then I pin point by geometry, this brings an innovative perspective when searching for a model"

-Physna user.

From the initial Search & Filtering, the user can go down two CUJs in the new app:

  • Compare two or more models ,

  • Or select a model to find a Match by geometry.

  • Of course that from each of those CUJs user can get back and initiate the other CUJ.

MATCH TYPE

Physna proprietary algorithm is capable of identifying four different kinds of Matches (see image below).
A model can have all of the matches or none, it depends on a model structure.
This feature was very hidden inside various menus on the legacy app and it required tribal knowledge how to get to those matches.
With this new experience, users don't need to know anything about filtering by Match-type, they just search and then they can decide if they want to narrow down by geometry.
The future goal is to obscure this filter and predict what the user is looking for.

COMPARE MODELS

In the Physna React app, in contrast to the old where you could select only two models (that was a challenge by itself), users can now add as many models as they like to the Compare Cart. We have amazing plans to the compare cart such as comparing by metadata, compare by geometry, convert cart to Bill-of-Material and etc.
